Are these sentences correct:

1-He was as much exhausted as relieved.
(Instead of: He was as exhausted as he was rlieved)

2-He was generous as he was wise.
(Instead of: He was as generous as he was wise.)

1. The sentence in red is fine as a replacement for the one in green.

2. I don't think this sentence in red works without the use of a preliminary as, Navi. At some level of conversational language it will do, but I can't say I'm in favor of using it without that as.
