Why don't you stay in bed and rest until you feel ----?

A) better
B) good
C) bad
D) worse
E) best

A seems to be correct, but why is B wrong? Apparently he doesn't already feel good.

This is interesting, Curious.

It's more logical and reasonable to say "... until you feel better" because the speaker is comparing the other person's current condition with how he'll feel after some bed rest. The amount of bed rest required just to "feel better" could be anything from an hour to a few hours to a whole day, for all we know.

If the speaker says the other person should stay in bed until he "feels good" again, that means completely recovered, which could take a lot longer than just feeling better. It's an unreasonable suggestion because the amount of time required could be a lot longer than just to feel better.

I hope you see why better is more reasonable a suggestion for staying in bed than good, which implies making a full recovery.
