Dear teachers,

Are the following sentences correct?
1. He got good marks FOR his good manners.
2. He got 75% marks IN THE maths exam.
3. He got 75% marks IN maths exam.
4. He got 75% marks IN maths.
5. He got 75% marks FOR maths.
6. He got A POOR mark IN maths.
7. He got top marks IN the exam.
8. He did better IN the exam.
9. He did better AT the exam.

Here are the corrected sentences.

1. He got good marks FOR his good manners.
2. He got 75% ON THE maths exam.
3. He got 75% IN maths
4. " " " " "
5. " " " " "
6. He got A POOR mark IN maths.
7. He got A top mark ON the exam.
8. He did better ON (possibly IN) the exam.
9. " " " " " " "

I'm noting, though, that "maths" is British English, and not used in American English. English.
