Hi,

Don't you think that all the living languages in the world sprang out from one ancient language?

It's doubtful, Izzy, because of the amazing diversity in the kinds of human speech. For example, we have tonal languages like Thai and the various forms of Chinese, we have inflected languages like Latin and German, and we have agglutinative languages like Turkish and Korean. These languages work by such different principles that I seriously doubt all human speech started with one language.
