Hello,

I would like to say that I want to finish the meeting before it should end in the past.

I wanted to finish the meeting before it should have ended.

Is this form correct?

Thanks a lot!^^

The sentence is possible, with the stress on 'should.'

However, there are clearer, more usual ways to express this idea:

I wanted to end the meeting before ...

  • it was supposed to end.
  • it was scheduled to end.
  • it was expected to end.
  • the time was up.
