Which is correct in the following:

1. There is no such a thing as ghosts.
2. There is no such thing as ghosts.

'There is no such thing' is correct. Or, we could also say 'There are no such things as ghosts.'

For negatives, we don't use the indefinite article.

For affirmative statements, we do:

  • There is such a thing a ghost / There are such things as ghosts.
