"My father has a lot of friendship" is totally ungrammatical, at least in American English, and is definitely NOT an OK answer. Ahmed_btm is right, however, that you can use "My father has a lot of friendships" (plural). That said, "friends" yields a very natural sentence: "My father has a lot of friends."
