My question is does"at post"mean "later"?
Whom does "we" refer to, Izzathanna, and what sort of "case" is under discussion? Do the referents of "we" have "posts" where cases are processed and interviews are conducted? If so, that might be a clue to the meaning.
What leads you to think that, Izzathanna? If I had to guess, I'd say that "post" refers, in the first instance, to an office of the U.S. Embassy and Consulate (they accepted the case for processing at such an office) and, in the second instance, to the office of the U.S. Embassy and Consulate located in Cairo.
