because / as

I wouldn't say it was necessary to reverse the clauses; but sometimes I find myself a little confused even by a sentence I myself have written, where the "as" clause follows.

In such cases, a comma before "as" can clarify matters and remove the momentary ambiguity:

1. The match was postponed, as it was raining.
