Hi,

Would the following sentence still be considered a complex sentence even though there is no subject in the second half of the sentence? Does it have to say, "...while he was looking for his missing keys."?

He found some money while looking for his missing keys.

Hi, Manaka—This is a matter of definition. You should check to see whether your teacher regards reduced dependent clauses as dependent clauses. There is one independent clause, containing a reduced dependent clause (the "while"-clause). If the "while"-clause is regarded as a clause, then the sentence is complex.
