Hi, Ahmed,

Hi, Is the following sentence OK ? If so, what is the meaning of the word "dictionary" ?

"There is no success without hard work and the only place success comes before work is in the dictionary"

See its source here:

https://www.goodreads.com/quot...success-comes-before

As you know the words beginning with the letter 's' come before the words beginning with the letter 'w' in any dictionary, that's why the word 'success' is listed before the word 'work'. That says the only place that (the word) success comes before 'work' is found in the dictionary. However, in real life, you have to work hard in order to achieve success. I mean that the first thing you do is to work hard, then success follows.
