See the bold. I'm using the word in a certain way; I don't know how to articulate what the meaning is but I guess that it's emphasizing "friends"...not sure. Anyway, I looked up "actual" in the dictionary and there were different meanings but none of them lined up with the sort of meaning that I have in mind regarding the bold. Can "actual" be used in the way that I'm using it regarding the bold, how could that meaning be articulated, and why can't I find this meaning in the dictionary?
Warren Samuels, Robert Dahl, Carole Pateman, and Don Lavoie are—outside my actual friends—the main well-known people who’ve understood my argument and been influenced by it.
