Hi, Dude,

I think repeating "in" at the beginning of each noun phrase helps keep them as separate units: the mouth and the nose, on the one hand, and the lungs and the stomach, on the other. It also gives more hierarchy to the "and" joining the two noun phrases: in the mouth and the nose, and in the lungs and the stomach.
