"in the traditional way" is correct but "the traditional way" might be more idiomatic, especially in conversation (just as "do it this way" is more colloquial than "do it in this way).

On COCA there are three examples of "do it the traditional way" and none of "do it in the traditional way."

Thank you for the answer. Is it more idiomatic to say:

1) Do you guys butcher animals the traditional way or with machines?

2) We still prepare rice the traditional way. We don't use rice cookers.
