Reflexive pronouns

Hello!  could you clarify this sentence please?

"Several attractive options have presented themselves in the past few years."

I dont get the use of the reflexive pronoun here. Isn't it the same?: Several ......have been presented in the past.....

Thanks in advance

Hello, Sandra.

The passive voice:

- Several attractive options have been presented...

makes clear that somebody has presented them, even if we don't know who.

The use of the reflexive:

- Several attractive options have presented themselves...

may be more appropriate here because it suggests a natural phenomenon, that is to say, an event that does not directly depend on the action of certain agents, similar to:

- Several attractive options have come up / emerged / appeared...
