I am planning to have a career change. I went to see an employment counselor about that. He is not a native English speaker. When he saw me, he said,

(1) "Are you transitioning for a career change?"

Is it correct to use "transitioning"?  Thanks for your help and time.

Hi, Ansonman,

"Transition" can be used as a verb, and the verb is sometimes used in the progressive. But that sentence makes no sense. Perhaps he was trying to say:

(1a) Are you planning to make a career change?
(1b) Are you transitioning into a new career?
(1c) Are you going through a career transition?
