Dear teachers, Are these sentences the same in meaning? 1.We had planned to visit grandmother, so we left early in the morning. 2. We were planning to visit grandmother, so we left early in the morning. Thanks.
The only difference, Coco, which is minor at that, is that in No. 1 we get the impression that this had been on their schedule of things to do for quite some time. In No. 2 we get the feeling that the plan was not too old.
Thank you, Richard. I recognized the difference between them now. Please tell me if "were planning" and "were going to visit" are different in the context? 1.We were planning to visit grandmother, so we left early in the morning. 2.We were going to visit grandmother, so we left early in the morning.
