Hi, Me_IV,

@Me_IV posted:

I have come across this sentence which was said to be correct:

What is you favorite color of car?

A native speaker provided it.

Do you agree that it's correct?

Yes.

@Me_IV posted:

Why is this one not correct?

What is you favorite color of a car?

What you could say is:

- What is your favorite color for a car?

The point is that "color of car" is a unit of meaning, like "type of woman" (you wouldn't say "type of a woman"), "size of shirt" or "brand of whisky."
